Summary: Willow and Kennedy on patrol.

Part 1    Part 2    Part 3

Part 1

"So, you used to do this with Buffy?" Kennedy asked.

"Sure. All the time." Willow replied. "Xander, too."

"Xander? What the hell did Xander do while you and Buffy were going at it?"

"Well, actually it was more like Buffy going at it, while Xander and I watched."

"So, you didn't have the witchy mojo when you guys went patrolling in high school?" Kennedy then asked.

"No. I didn't start really exploring magic until college," answered Willow as she and Kennedy continued walking through Sunnydale. They had been patrolling for a couple of hours and decided to head back to Buffy's house.

"That's not the only thing you started exploring. Do you think there's a connection?" Kennedy asked with a wicked smile. Willow couldn't help it, she had to return the smile. It was too cute.

"I don't think so. Unless, I did a spell on myself when I was trying to curse Oz and Veruca."

"Who are Oz and Veruca and why were you trying to curse them?" Kennedy asked puzzled.

"Um, long story for another night," was Willow's only answer as they were nearing Ravello Drive.

"Okay. New topic. If you had to sleep with one of the other potentials, who would you choose?" Kennedy asked with a sly smile.

"What? Where the frilly heck did that question come from?" Willow asked as her face turned a bright red.

"Oh, come on. Play along. It's just for fun. It's not like I'm actually asking you sleep with one of them. In fact, I'm actively discouraging that."

"Oh, alright. Let's see. Probably Rona," came Willow's reluctant reply.

"Rona? No way!" Kennedy stopped walking just as they were about to round the corner onto Ravello Drive.

"What? She's attractive. She has a good sense of humor. She could use a new outfit though. Not likin' that farmer in the Hellmouth look she's got going."

"Yea, yea but she's whiney. I hate that and the fact that you would pick her over Molly! I mean I know Molly's a spaz and God help us all if she's called as the next slayer, but she's hot," Kennedy finally took a moment to inhale.

"Hey this was your stupid game, which I might add, I was forced to play. If you don't like the answers I umph..." Willow's mouth was quickly covered by Kennedy's own. When Kennedy finally pulled away Willow wore a goofy smile on her face.

"You're right. No more talking," Kennedy moved in for another kiss just as Andrew rounded the corner, knocking Willow and Kennedy to the ground. When he saw who it was, he got a horrified look on his face and began to stammer.

"Oh crap. Please don't kill me Willow. I didn't mean to do it. I didn't see you guys standing there. The hedge was in the way. I was just going for a walk. I couldn't take it in that house anymore. All those girls, doing girlie stuff. Xander won't talk to me and I think Anya and Dawn are doing stuff to me in my sleep..." He continues to yammer as Kennedy whispers to Willow.

"Couldn't you just magic his mouth shut? Oh! Or take away his mouth like in that Twilight Zone movie," she added hopefully.

"No. I don't use magic for non-evil fighting," Willow whispered back with great disappointment.

"But he is evil," Kennedy pleaded. Willow just smiled as they both rose from the ground. Andrew continued his inane babbling.

"...and Spike was yelling 'pants! pants! pants! on fire!' and then I woke up. What do you think it means?" he asked while looking at them expectantly.

"Uh, you have abandonment issues," Kennedy offered. Willow had to hide her face behind her hand.

"Yes, that's it. Everyone I've ever cared about left me. My dad, Tucker, Warren, Jonathan..."

"Jonathan didn't leave, you killed him!" Willow interrupted.

"Yea, well, you killed Warren!", Andrew shouted back. At this point Kennedy had grown tired of Andrew and decided to use her own brand of magic to shut him up. She punched him in the face. He went flying through the hedge and landed on the other side. The last sounds they heard were a dog growling and Andrew's high pitched scream.

"Thanks.", Willow said, smiling at Kennedy as they continued around the corner toward home.

"Hey punchin' geeks is what I do. Consider it a token of my affection," Kennedy returned the smile.

"Isn't a token of affection actually suppose to be something. I mean something you can hold.", Willow inquired.

"Well, you can hold the hand I punched him with," Kennedy replied with an even bigger smile. Willow smiled in return and took said hand. They continued up the walkway to Buffy's house. A faint whimpering could be heard down the block.

"...why doesn't Jedi mind control work on dogs?"

Part 2

"Are you sure about this?" Kennedy asked from her position on the basement floor.

"Yes, I'm sure. It'll be good," came Willow's reply from somewhere above Kennedy.

"I really don't like wearing this blindfold. I'm uncomfortable not knowing where you are exactly and there's always the chance Andrew will burst in and think we're playing Obi Wan and Luke Skywalker."

Willow couldn't help but laugh at that last part. Andrew did seem to always interrupt at the most inopportune times.

"Don't worry. Andrew won't be getting in here tonight."

"Why not? Did you slip something in his hot chocolate?" Kennedy asked slightly intrigued.

"No!" Willow replied in an amused tone. "I locked the basement door."

"Oh yeah? Just you and me locked in the basement?" Kennedy's voice dropped low.

"Don't get any ideas missy. We're here to train," Willow chastised as she reached into a box on the floor and pulled out four fist sized bean bags. "You need to be aware of the things around you even if you can't see them."

"Oh God, we really are playing Obi Wan and Luke. Should I stretch out my feelings?"

Just as Kennedy finished the question a bean bag hit her in the head.

"Hey! That hurt, sorta. I wasn't ready," Kennedy complained while rubbing her forehead.

Willow moved to a different position and threw a second bean bag, but this time Kennedy was able to deflect it with her arm.

"Better. You know the bad guys aren't gonna wait till you're ready," Willow commented, still moving as she threw the third bean bag. Kennedy barely had time to deflect the third before Willow launched the last one. This time Kennedy caught it and threw it right back at where she knew Willow was standing. Being caught off guard, Willow was the one to take a bean bag to the head this time.

"Owww. That does sorta hurt," Willow managed while rubbing her own forehead. Kennedy pulled off the blindfold, stood up and walked toward Willow.

"Sorry," Kennedy apologized as she reached up and kissed Willow on the forehead. "Is that better?" she asked with a smile.

"Much," Willow returned the smile. Kennedy leaned in to kiss Willow a bit lower this time. As their lips were about to meet, the window in the basement flew open. Kennedy quickly pushed Willow behind her and faced the window only to find Andrew squeezing through it. His foot got caught on the ledge, so he was just sort of dangling.

"Oh crap!" he managed to squeak out. He turned his head around slightly and finally noticed Kennedy and Willow gawking at him. "Oh, hey guys. A little help?"

"Would it be so bad if we just walked upstairs?" Kennedy asked hopefully.

"Well, I feel kinda bad about leaving him with that dog the other night. We could disentangle him and then run up the stairs before he gets to his feet," Willow suggested with her best smile.

"It's a plan. I'm goin' in." And with that Kennedy approached Andrew. All she needed to do was disentangle his foot from the ledge, then he'd fall on his head in classic cartoon fashion. Willow had inched her way to the bottom of the stairs and was ready to run up them at any moment.

"Okay geek, you ready?" Kennedy asked, but didn't wait for an answer, which she quickly discovered was a big mistake. As soon as Andrew felt himself begin to fall he grabbed her legs, pulling her forward and right on top of him. They landed in a classic sixty-nine position. As soon as Kennedy realized where her head was, she bolted up, but Andrew had a death grip on her upper legs.

"Let go of me you jackass.", Kennedy was beyond pissed at this point. Once Willow realized Kennedy wasn't hurt in the fall, she collapsed into hysterical laughter at the base of the stairs.

"Willow! This is so not funny! Would you get over here and help me!" Kennedy shouted.

"I think you're doing fine on your own," Willow stated between fits of laughter.

Kennedy glared at her and decided to do the only thing she could do. She punched Andrew in the stomach as hard as she could from her position. He howled in pain and immediately released his hold on her legs. That punching thing always works, Kennedy thought as she rolled away from Andrew and stood up making her way toward Willow, who was no longer laughing.

"Kennedy? Sweetie? I just uh, thought you wouldn't want, you know any help even though you asked for help, I thought it was a test, to see if I would help even though you really didn't want help when you ask for help. Did I pass?" Willow asked with the cutest smile Kennedy had ever seen.

Kennedy moved to within an inch of Willow's face, "You're lucky you're so damn cute," and then she finished the kiss she was about to start before Andrew's entrance. She pulled away smiling. Willow seemed a bit embarrassed.

"Are you worried about geekboy seeing us kiss?" Kennedy softly inquired.

"No...well, maybe a little," Willow replied.

"There are two good reasons why you don't have to worry about that. He passed out after I punched him and I don't think we're his cup of tea. I'm fairly certain he'd like to be the meat in a Spike and Xander uhm..." Kennedy was cut off by Willow's hand clamped over her mouth.

"If you like me at all, don't finish that sentence," Willow pleaded as she removed her hand. Just then the basement door opened and in walked Spike, followed by Xander.

Kennedy looked at them then at Willow, "I thought you said the door was locked."

"Do you actually think the basement door locks from the inside? You've been hanging out with Molly too much," Willow ribbed Kennedy.

"Is that so?" Kennedy replied.

She started up the stairs and stopped just behind Spike and Xander. She put an arm around each one's shoulder and looked directly at Willow. "You know all this training's made me hungry. I think I'll have a sandwich."

With that she turned around and left the basement. Willow's face was redder than her shirt. Xander and Spike just stared at her not understanding her embarrassment. Andrew began to move from his position under the window and he mumbled,

"I want a sandwich too."

Part 3

"Find anything?" Willow asked as she walked in her room carrying two cups of tea. Kennedy was sitting on the bed with Willow's laptop open trying to find any information on the First.

"I found something pretty interesting. It could help with our fight against the First," Kennedy replied seriously. Willow sat the cups of tea on the nightstand beside the bed, then moved toward the closet to put away some clothes.

"Oh yea? Is it a weakness? Does the First really hate puppets?" Willow inquired with a smile.

"Oh it's better than that, just listen...Doogie and Wanda sat down on the couch together. Doogie had finally worked up the nerve to kiss her. He moved in, their lips almost touching when Vinnie burst through the front door. 'Yo Doog. I finally managed to escape pop. Man he'll never give up tryin' to drag me into the shower head sales business. Whoa, did I interrupt something?' Vinnie asked after finally looking up," Kennedy looked to Willow for her reaction and was just barely able to scramble off the bed to avoid a diving Willow. This wasn't an easy task as she was still holding the laptop. Willow moved off the bed onto the opposite side.

"Okay. Kennedy, give me the computer," Willow calmly stated.

"Or what?" Kennedy replied in a tone that was pure evil.

"I've already read this crap. What could you do to me that could possibly be worse?"

"I could uh, well uh, okay, you're right. Keep it," Willow was resigned to the fact that there was nothing worse. Kennedy smiled as she moved around the bed toward Willow. As soon as Kennedy was half away around, Willow lunged forward and tackled her. Kennedy was flat on her back with Willow sprawled half on top of her.

"Geez. Who knew you'd get this excited over Doogie?" Kennedy smiled up at Willow.

"I wrote that a long time ago.I was young and stupid and why am I even bothering to explain. Nothing I could say would make it less geeky," at that Kennedy nodded her head. "See," Willow started to move away, but Kennedy held her in place.

"I never said I didn't like geeky," Kennedy smiled. Willow leaned down and kissed her softly at first. As her desire increased, so did the intensity of the kiss. Willow started to move her hand under Kennedy's shirt when the bedroom door was suddenly flung open.

"Are you guys okay? I heard a loud noise. I thought Jonathan/the First might be back," Andrew asked all in one breath. He took in the sight of Willow and Kennedy entangled on the floor.

"Are you guys like training or something? Because if you are, I could help. I know a little kung fu and I've had ninja training. Well I've read about ninjas and I've seen Shogun's Ninja twenty-seven times. It's about the struggle of two rival ninja clans through many decades...

Kennedy looked at Willow. "I've changed my mind. I hate geeky. Just let me kill him. Please?" Kennedy's look was pleading. Willow didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Every time things started to get interesting between her and Kennedy, Andrew popped up. It was like some horrible plot device in a crappy novel. Andrew, the human chastity belt.

"I tried that already. It didn't work," Willow stated gravely and rolled off of Kennedy. They both got to their feet. Andrew was still talking about Ninjas.

"We could tie him up again or tie him to Spike's cot in the basement. He'd probably like that," Kennedy suggested.

"I have a better idea. Oh Andrew?" Willow called.

"...in search of two daggers of power. The knives contain the secret of the ninjas," Andrew finished.

"Andrew," Willow said his name again.

"Yea, you want me to train you guys?" he asked.

"Um, maybe later. Right now we have a top secret assignment for you. It's kinda dangerous," Willow informed him seriously.

"Dangers my middle name."

Beat.

"Okay, actually it's Gerald," Andrew added with an awkward smile.

"Are you sure you're up for this?" Willow questioned.

"Yes. Whatever it is, i'm ready," Andrew replied with much excitement. Kennedy looked at Willow, trying to figure out what her wonderful brain had cooked up to distract Andrew.

"We need you to go down to the basement and take an inventory of the weapons," Willow revealed the dangerous mission.

"Okay. Wait, how is that a dangerous mission and why do you need an inventory of the weapons?" Andrew questioned.

"Well, it's dangerous because it's you with weapons and we need to know if we have enough for all the girls. You know for the fighting of the Evil and stuff," came Willow's slightly less than convincing answer. This time Kennedy was the one hiding her face.

"Alright then. I'll be in the basement if you need me," and with that Andrew turned and left the room. Willow turned to Kennedy wearing a huge grin.

"Alone at last."

"Are you sure about having him handle the weapons?" Kennedy asked with slight concern.

"He'll be fine. Probably. Maybe?" Willow was now doubting the wisdom of this mission.

"Sure. What's the worst that could happen? He loses a foot or maybe a hand?" Kennedy added. They waited only a second before bolting down the stairs heading to the basement

"BLOODY HELL! You shot me!"

"Was that Spike?" Kennedy asked as they arrived at the basement door.

"It can't be. It hasn't even been five minutes. Who can do something that stupid in less than five minutes?" Willow was in full Dennis Miller mode. She and Kennedy ran down the stairs to the basement.

"What happened?" Kennedy asked breathlessly. She couldn't see any injuries on Spike.

"The boy shot me with a bloody crossbow," Spike yelled.

"It wasn't my fault. He was lurking in the shadows and being all vampirish," Andrew sputtered.

"Wait, I don't see any injuries," Willow vocalized what Kennedy was thinking. Spike turned his back to the girls and there protruding from his backside was the crossbow bolt. Willow and Kennedy both had to suppress their laughter. They didn't succeed very well.

"It's not funny. It bloody hurts," Spike was indignent, "Is someone going to help me?"

"Okay big bad," Kennedy replied as she moved toward Spike.

"This might," Kennedy started as she grabbed the bolt and pulled it out. Spike yelped in pain. "Hurt."

"Bugger. Aren't you suppose to warn me before you go yanking?" Spike glared at Kennedy.

"Probably." Kennedy twirled the bolt around like a baton, which she realized was a mistake since half the bolt was covered in Spike's blood. She quickly threw it down and went to the sink to wash her hand. Willow walked over to Spike.

"Take off your pants," she ordered. Spike raised his eyebrow and smirked. Willow frowned. "So I can check your wound." Spike started to remove his pants, but noticed Andrew watching him intently.

"Make the boy turn around."

Andrew blushed crimson and quickly faced the opposite direction. Kennedy walked back over with a towel and some bandages.

"Look on the bright side Spike. He could have accidentally shot you in the heart," Kennedy comforted as she handed the bandages to Willow. Spike turned his head to give her a cold stare.

"She's right. I could have dusted you! That would have been so cool. I'd be like one of the Imbued," Andrew practically squealed. Spike, Willow and Kennedy all rolled their eyes at the same time. Andrew still had his back turned toward the group so, he took their silence as an indication to continue. "You see, the Imbued are mortals who have been given the power to defeat monsters and well vampires are monsters and Spike would be like, way more powerful than a 15th gen..."

"Does anyone know what hell he's talking about?" Kennedy asked.

"It's a role playing game. You build a character and play against other people online or in a group," Willow supplied the answer. When she looked up from bandaging Spike's wound both Spike and Kennedy were staring at her with amusement.

"What? I heard Xander talking about it," came Willow's weak defense.

"UmHm," Kennedy intoned.

"Didn't you have an online boyfriend/robot/monster type thing? Owwww. What are you doing back there?" Spike yelped.

"All done. You can put your pants back on now," Willow quickly changed the subject.

"...but I don't really like avengers. They're too violent and judgmental. So, do you guys have any questions?" Andrew finally stopped talking and turned around to face the group. Willow and Kennedy started backing up toward the stairs.

"No, we'll just buy the rulebook. Right now in fact," Willow answered as she and Kennedy reached the stairs.

"Hey, you birds can't go alone. You need a male escort," Spike's tone was pleading.

"Sorry gov. Daylight, but this'll give you guys a chance to bond. Just try not to provoke him again," Kennedy smirked as she and Willow headed up the stairs. "What was that Spike was talking about?"

"Spike's crazy," Willow replied as she moved her finger in a circle beside her head. "Besides he wasn't even around when that, uh didn't happen." Kennedy just smiled and put her arm around Willow's waist. As they walked out of the basement into the kitchen, they heard what sounded like a growl and then Andrew's voice.

"When you're in vampire face you look kinda like Patrick Swayze."
